171 alaska.edu emails found in the Wattpad data breach

In June 2020, the user-generated stories website . The data was initially sold then published on a public hacking forum where it was broadly shared. The incident exposed extensive personal information including names and usernames, email and IP addresses, genders, birth dates and passwords stored as bcrypt hashes.

Among those email address were 171 ¶¶ÒõÇáÁ¿°æ emails. Visit  to see if your email has been involved in this (or any other) breach.

You can minimize the risk to your accounts by avoiding using the same login and password combination for multiple sites.  Using long and unique passwords for each account helps protect you and the university in the case of a breach.
