Understanding, Engaging, and Celebrating Diversity
The ¶¶ÒõÇáÁ¿°æ system's students, faculty and staff represent a tremendous mix of identities. We are multi-generational, multicultural and multitalented.
We must embrace our diversity, and seek even greater equity and inclusion by welcoming everyone and by supporting each other in our differences. These values will unite us in our mission to provide a transformative university experience for all.
Our universities are amazing communities filled with unique life experiences, racial and ethinic diversity, sexual orientations, abilities, religious beliefs and many other identities. But we can and must do more to build a culture of compassion, respect and inclusion so that all people may thrive in our campuses and communities.
Mission
The Senior Director has been tasked with coordinating recommendations developed through the ¶¶ÒõÇáÁ¿°æ Native Success Initiative and to foster partnerships between the UA system and ¶¶ÒõÇáÁ¿°æ Native organizations. In addition, the advisor is able to advise the president, chancellors and other university system leaders on critical issues including engaging with the ¶¶ÒõÇáÁ¿°æ Native Studies Council, UA for Racial Justice, and other university affiliated groups to develop strategies for progress on diversity, equity and inclusion goals.
